If people are not allowed to talk about Jesus in church meetings how will they get the courage and confidence to talk about Jesus in secular settings?
I don’t need to hear another talk about God in church. I’ve heard so many of them and remember almost none of them. What I need is the comfort of seeing the body of Christ in action; showing His love to one another and to me! I need to see the living, resurrected Jesus freely flowing in and through brothers and sisters in Christ.
America has lots of talk radio stations. Perhaps it is time for some talk churches where everyday people show and tell what God has done. Check one out at The Salvation Army Berry Street Worship Center in Nashville, TN!
At The Salvation Army Berry Street we minister to more than 30 inner city children and teenagers every week, to low-income families in East Nashville, to people from around Nashville who have been disillusioned by traditional church, and to college students at Trevecca Nazarene University. We would appreciate your prayers and financial support. If you would like to make a donation make a check out to “The Salvation Army Berry Street” and mail it to The Salvation Army, 225 Berry Street, Nashville, TN 37207. Thank you!
Our goal is to train people to let the Spirit reign in our meetings and in their lives:
1) Work to be still and quiet in your spirit;
2) Lift your focus to the Lord;
3) Concentrate on God’s promptings, thoughts, words, & nudgings in your heart.
4) Take action to obey what God has shown you.
5) Continually repeat this process until it becomes automatic in your life!
Come visit us on Sundays at 10:45 and/or Tuesday nights at 6:00 at the address above.
