How can we see the invisible Christ? (The answer is blowing in the wind.)

The invisible working of the living God in human hearts becomes clearly visible when ordinary people are permitted in a church meeting, to show and tell what God has done. It’s an amazing thing to see! (This experience should definitely be on your bucket list!)

If we don’t move with the Spirit others won’t know that He is real!
–Jesus is now invisible (like the wind). He’s no longer present on Earth in a human body, but present in the Holy Spirit. So how can we see the Spirit? Just like we “see” the wind blowing! You see how human hearts move in His presence — unless those hearts refuse to budge under His influence and prompting. In that case, all you can see is worshipers (or church attenders) sitting passively and hearing a talk. However, people need more than a talk! They need visible evidence of Jesus’ presence! We need to obey the Spirit’s promptings so that others can see His invisible presence in operation through us. That’s why one of the most important biblical commands is “Quench not the Spirit.”

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  –Jesus Christ

However, we can either resist the Spirit’s blowing in our heart, or yield to it.  Instead of resisting the Holy Spirit, surrender and ride with the Spirit’s wind!

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
