The Bible says: “Hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
–Yet, very few churches allow time for people to hear the Spirit and share what they hear with the rest of the congregation.
With my head I control and direct the parts of my body.
–Christ-followers have been made part of Christ’s body, the church.
He is the only Head (CEO) of the church. Do we allow the living, resurrected Jesus Christ (in the person of the Holy Spirit) to control and direct us when we meet together as His body?
The Holy Spirit is like water in a faucet. As long as we keep our hearts and ears tightly shut off, there will be no Spirit flow, but when we open up wide to God the Spirit will gush through us in abundance!
The Puff Equation that is being pushed down our throats in popular culture says: “1 uncaused big bang + lots of time = everything in the Universe.” Perhaps if we allowed the Spirit, Himself, to lead and direct church meetings we would stand in awe of what the living God does in our midst and our hearts would explode with the realization that there is so much more to life than the Puff Equation. And the Spirit would make a pervasive, life-transforming big bang in our hearts.
So, who is the world’s best Bible teacher?
The Bible says: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
(Perhaps we could allow people time to listen to the Helper in church and then share with the congregation what He tells them.)
