It’s Your Choice–Principle Or Preference

Everyone’s choice . . .
–Do I choose to use my freedom to follow and obey my own feelings?
–Or do I choose to use my freedom to faithfully follow and obey the living, resurrected Jesus Christ and His teaching “Go and sin no more.”

Shall we choose principle or preference? Christ-followers are called to live by principle, not preference; obedience, not opinions. We are called to set our personal preferences aside and to follow and obey the moral teachings of Scripture and the voice of the living, resurrected Jesus Christ. We often fail in to our attempt to obey, however, when we do, we are commanded to confess our wrongdoing, wrong speaking, and/or wrong thinking as sin, and then to turn back to faithful obedience.
–How are you doing? What do you need to confess and to tun away from?
–“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” –Psalm 139:24

The modern myth says:
“God’s not relevant.”
Truth says:
“You can’t take your next breath without Him.”

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
