Ekklesia eases the pain of being thrown under the church bus

church bus

A pretty red cup is no reason to throw Starbucks under the church bus!

If you’ve ever
Been thrown under
The church bus,
Ekklesia will
Heal your hurts.
Ekklesia puts
People before programs,
Love before liturgy,
Relationships before religion,
Christ before committees.

“I don’t want to be a passenger sitting on the bench not doing much.” –Frank Lampard
–If you feel that way, come see ekklesia in action at The Salvation Army Berry Street, where instead of being confined to a bench (or some other type of seat) for an hour, ordinary people are free to stand up and share and/or move around the room and pray with one another. (Sundays at 10:45 am., 225 Berry St., Nashville 37207.)

It’s beautiful when Christ-followers come together and let Heaven’s rivers freely flow from many hearts as everyday people show and tell what God has done. The Bible calls that ekklesia.  There’s no need to settle for just passively sitting and hearing a program of religious info, when God wants to actively demonstrate and release His inner flow through all the people present! Jesus put it this way: “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” –John 7:38

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
