Follow a burning book down the Fire Lane!

The Bible is the FIRE LANE that will lead you to the living Jesus and help ignite His fire in your heart & life! It’s a living, burning book.

Spend some time in the FIRE LANE everyday see for yourself. If you are stuck in any self-defeating thoughts or behaviors, daily reading the Bible with an open heart will gradually free you!

Here are some original thoughts that were inspired by years of spending daily time in the FIRE LANE:

My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is based on 0% merit and 100% mercy! That’s the formula for grace and it requires great humility. (See James 4:6.) That formula (grace = 0% merit + 100% mercy) makes me forever grateful and beholden to Him!

Many people are so distracted by desires, feelings, and activities that they never even notice that God is speaking in their soul. Expel from your heart every dominion but Jesus!

When Jesus said, “Love your enemies,” He wasn’t saying to agree with or applaud them, but to be consistently kind to them.

In prechurch Christianity, God’s word was untamed! It burned in people’s hearts and its fire overflowed in their daily lives.

Many feelings and desires lead down the path of self-destruction. Don’t follow them.

An unmanaged mind makes many messes. Let the Holy Spirit’s apps manage yours!

A mind that is guided by the Holy Spirit has much more peace than a mind that is left to float along with random thoughts. A mind that doesn’t mind embracing negativity will soon be overwhelmed with discouragement.

Don’t let your mind be so open that common since and wisdom are pushed out. A mind that’s open to anything will eventually follow anything. There are some things that shouldn’t be done or thought.

When I feel like I don’t have a clue, Jesus is the glue that holds me together. Contentment, faith, and love aren’t intellectual concepts, but inner realities of a heart surrendered to the living Jesus.

To avoid guilt make your mind and heart follow your conscience. And when they slip away, ask forgiveness and get them back on track.

To ignore your conscience is to choose your own feelings and opinions over God’s inner light. Life works better when lived wisely, not when left to random impulses.

If you aren’t actively resisting negative thoughts, you’re accepting and approving them. A mind with no filter is flooded with pollutants.

This question was inspired by FIRE LANE verse, Philippians 4:8. What percentage of the things you think, listen to, watch, or read are uplifting & positive?

Actions and words are windows that show what people are like on the inside. The Son’s rays will raise your joy & peace. Pull back the blinds & let Jesus shine in your heart!

God wants to expand His Empire to your heart & life. Will you surrender to His rule or resist His authority?

The 1st century, Spirit-led ekklesia was gradually organized and turned into institutional church. Let’s make church ekklesia again.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
