Good times produce good consequences

Good times are not times lived in a euphoric buzz. Good times are times that produce good after-effects in people’s lives.

Life is a sequence of consequences. The way you live today is setting up your tomorrows. Choosing guilty pleasures is choosing guilt. Your choices create your circumstances. Choose constructively, not destructively. Much misfortune is made by misbehavior.

Wrongful thoughts, words, and actions produce undesirable consequences. If you don’t want the consequences, avoid the causes. Many of your rewards and punishments are the results of your own thoughts, words, and behaviors. Before you commit to cause and effect, pause and reflect.

People who lack the strength to constructively manage their emotions often resort to anger and aggression. The rough wake that flows from your destructive choices is a wake up call! Trying to deny the evidence and/or destroy the consequences of your wrongdoing, offers no solace for your soul.

A hearing heart produces caring and compassion. Don’t just listen with your ears and your mind, but also with your heart.

Fake statements (less than honest words) are harmful and deceptive, even if they never rise to the level of fake news. Speak truth.

“What’s done is done,”
Or is it?
Often what’s been done
Causes the present
And the future
To unravel
Because consequences
Aren’t done yet.

About Steve Simms

I like to look and think outside the box. In college I encountered Jesus Christ and I have been passionate about trying to get to know Him better ever since. My wife and I co-lead a non-traditional expression of the body of Christ in Nashville based on open participation and Spirit-led sharing. We long to see the power and passion of the first Christ-followers come to life in our time. I have written a book about our experiences called, "Beyond Church: An Invitation To Experience The Lost Word Of The Bible--Ekklesia" that is available in Kindle & paperback @ http://amzn.to/2nCr5dP
